BASIC APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS AND INSTRUCTIONS.
Purpose: To provide educational scholarships to students who have familial ties and/or interest in Italian heritage, and (2) to promote engagement and learning about Italian culture overall. Demonstration of special interest in one or more aspects of Italian language, arts and science.
Applicant Requirements:
- Italian heritage (i.e., parents or grandparents must be of documented of Italian descent)
- Full-time high school senior or college student enrolled and attending an accredited vocational, two year or four-year educational institution
- Exceptional leadership qualities and a distinguished level of scholastic achievement,
- Demonstration of a special interest in one aspect of Italian language, arts /or science
- Georgia residency
- Two letters of recommendation
- Submission of the completed Application Form and 500 word essay.
Date of Award: The 2024 Scholarship recipients will be officially recognized at the La Societa Italiana, Inc. Annual Family Picnic which takes in late spring. Monetary awards are presented directly to students’ academic institutions in accordance with eligibility requirements.
